Learn more →Rosario is 100% highly urbanized according to the National Statistics Office classification. It is one of the densest municipalities in the province of Cavite. It is known to be the pioneer of concentrated manufacturing industry because of the presence of Cavite Economic Zone which paved the way of Cavite’s industrial revolution. In-migration is a continuous phenomenon since the early 1990s. People tend to flock in areas where they can find employment and eventually decide to settle there with their families.
The barangays of Tejeros Convention, Wawa III, Silangan I and Sapa II have become over-populated due to informal settlers. The municipality has a present population density of 147 per hectare. Rosario has a total land area of 768.3640 hectares. In the 2015 PSA census, the population of Rosario was 110,706 people, with a density of 144 inhabitants per hectare. The potential labor force (15 years old and above) comprises 72.67% of the population, mostly engaged in fishing and trade. The growth rate is 3.53%.
While the official 2025 Census data isn't out yet, Rosario, Cavite's population is estimated around 112,572 as of a July 2024 projection, growing from its 2020 census count of 110,807, showing steady growth within this dense, first-class municipality known for its fishing and trade, with high population density near Manila's urban sprawl.
